Charitable Gaming Fees

Charitable Gaming Registration & Lottery Licensing Fees

The Charitable Gaming registration fees listed below and in the Fee Schedule (Commercial and Charitable Gaming) may be paid by:

  • Cheque or money order, payable to the Minister of Finance
    1. Cheques or money orders cannot be post-dated
    2. There will be a $35.00 (Cdn) process fee charged for cheques that are returned by the bank as a result of non-sufficient funds.
    or
  • Visa, Mastercard or AmEx
    1. complete and return the credit card payment slip with your application

The Charitable Gaming Lottery Licensing fees listed below and in the Fee Schedule (Lottery Licensing) may be paid by:

  • Company cheque, bank draft or money order, payable to the Minister of Finance
    1. Cheques or money orders cannot be post-dated
    2. There will be a $35.00 (Cdn) process fee charged for cheques that are returned by the bank as a result of non-sufficient funds.

Please do not send cash in the mail. Harmonized Sales Tax does not apply to these fees.

In addition to the registration fee, the Registrar of Alcohol and Gaming may require the applicant/registrant to pay the reasonable costs of an investigation.

NOTE: Casino and slot machine facility type registration fees are non-refundable.

*Note that applicants must indicate on their annual notice and/or application the type of goods and services they supply (e.g. gaming equipment supplier) or job responsibilities they exercise (e.g. bingo caller, croupier) and pay the appropriate fee(s) for each type. For example, a “Category 2 Gaming Assistant” who exercises the responsibilities of a bingo caller, croupier and gaming services employee must pay the associated fees for each type ($150). Upon approval of the application or notice, a single registration will be issued allowing the individual to perform these functions.

Service Fees

The following fees are payable to the Minister of Finance for services indicated:

  • Replacement certificate of registration as a supplier: $50.00
  • Replacement certificate of registration and photo identification card as a gaming assistant: $50.00
    (includes replacement certificate $25 and identification $25.00)
Charitable Gaming Lottery Licensing Fees

In accordance with Section 17 of Order in Council 1413/08, the maximum fees that may be charged for the issuance of a licence or authorization are as listed in the chart below.

  • Number of sessions, multiplied by the maximum payout, multiplied by 3%
Progressive Bingo Game (non-pooling bingo halls)
  • Total number of sessions x $12
Loonie Progressive Game (non-pooling bingo halls)
  • Total number of sessions x $2
Break Open Ticket
  • 3% of prizes
Raffle Lotteries
  • 3% of prizes*
Social Gaming Event
  • $5 per blackjack table
  • $5 per wheel of fortune
  • 3% of prizes for a raffle conducted in conjunction with the Social Gaming event
Fair or Exhibition Gaming Event
  • $10 per blackjack table per day
  • $10 per wheel of fortune per day
  • $100 per merchandise bingo
Bazaar Gaming Event
  • 3% of prizes for a bingo
  • 3% of prizes for a raffle
  • $10 per wheel of fortune per day

*Please note that beginning April 21, 2010, the licence fee for all stand-alone raffle licences issued by the Registrar of Alcohol and Gaming will be 1% of prize board.
